Our Mission & Vision

The Mission and Vision of the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of motorcycling, honor those who have made a positive and significant impact on the sport and lifestyle, and pay tribute to the history of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. We do this through offering comprehensive and educational exhibits and showcasing rare and unusual examples significant to our history and sport.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame is more than a collection of bikes and memorabilia. The Museum is a curated tribute to the people, the tradition, and the technology of motorcycles.

The Museum's Hall of Fame is a growing testament to those who dedicate their time, talent, and treasure to the sport, culture, and impact of the motorcycle industry in our country and around the world. As one of only two halls of fame in motorcycling, our broad, grassroots approach has a distinctive appeal.

Honor the Ride. Build the Legacy.

This is the name we've given our fundraising campaign, a crusade with which we hope to have the opportunity to do even more, expanding upon our mission and vision. We foresee the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame becoming a standout national destination located right in the heart of Sturgis, South Dakota, home to one of the country's largest motorcycle rallies.

Our dynamic vision is to have enough space for expanded galleries and displays that tell a more complete story of the motorcycle's impact on American pop culture, history, economics, art, literature, and more. Through this campaign, we also strive to develop the resources needed to continue building the collection and endow the Museum for the future.

The result will be a unique national destination that honors the past, informs the present, and inspires the future.
