FRANK ERNST
Hall of Fame Inductee - 2001

Over the last 30 years our great sport of motorcycling has grown beyond all expectations and the list of those wanting to take motorcyclists rights away has increased proportionally. Frank has been a strong and diligent leader in the motorcyclist’s rights movement, serving on the boards of the National Coalition of Motorcyclists, ABATE of Minnesota, the Minnesota Governor’s Advisory Committee and a long time member of the Motorcycle Riders Foundation. All attempts to pass mandatory helmet laws, deny motorcyclist’s insurance and discriminate against motorcyclists on any level have been meet with Frank’s firm yet subtle opposition. Frank has always been a behind-the-scenes person, never craving the spotlight. His philosophy, “Walk softly but carry a big stick” has been the glue that has bound the rights movement together. Frank is a hero in Minnesota and across the nation.
