Hall of Fame Inductee - 2001
State Senator Jim Putnam is an outspoken motorcyclists’ rights activist in South Dakota and across the nation. He serves on the Legislative Task Force of the National Coalition of Motorcyclists (NCOM) and has worked diligently for the motorcyclists of South Dakota since his election, first as a representative, then senator and back as a representative again. Jim is the perfect example of what we imagine a politician should be; fair, impartial, compassionate, a staunch supporter of freedom of choice and a leader who truly hears and represents the voice of the people. Jim’s humble background, he was raised in a small rural farming community, is apparent in his folksy style, but make no mistake, if you intend to tamper with motorcyclists rights, you will meet a formidable foe in the legislature.Return to the Hall of Fame Page
