MALCOLM FORBESMalcolm Steven Forbes rose to prominence in the latter part of the 20th century as Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of the nation’s leading business publication, Forbes Magazine. In action just prior to the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. In his lifetime, Mr. Forbes was awarded 60 honorary doctoral degrees from colleges and universities throughout the world. His book “Around the World on Hot Air and Two Wheels” was published in 1985. The editors of Motorcyclist Magazine voted him 1987’s Motorcyclists of the Year. He was named 1998’s International Motorcyclist of the Year by the International World of Motorcycles and in 1989 President Ronald Reagan awarded Mr. Forbes the Presidential Citizens Medal. Although his accomplishments are too numerous to list, his passion for motorcycles and the positive impact he had on the industry makes him an outstanding choice for the Sturgis Hall of Fame. Malcolm Forbes began a movement that changed the world’s perception of the motorcycle rider, proving to everyone that, whether you were showing up for work or riding with a movie star in Russia, doing it on two wheels was a very good thing.
