Hall of Fame Inductee - 2004
Bruce could easily be described as the “Big Man with the Huge Heart.” The motorcycling industry knows Bruce as a phenomenal businessman who started his first Harley-Davidson dealership in 1994, expanding it into multiple dealerships with annual sales exceeding $140 million. What’s even more important is what motorcyclists, kids and the citizens of Florida think about Bruce, who, in spite of the overwhelming task of operating a huge business, always makes time to help kids and families in need.
Bruce serves on the Board of Directors of the Boggy Creek Gang Camp, a division of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps founded by General Norman Schwarzkopf and Paul Newman. The biggest fundraising event benefiting the kids camps is Bruce’s own “Ride for Children.” Bruce committed to raise $1,000,000 in ten years for this cause; the goal will be met in 2004, one year ahead of schedule. Bruce will be recognized and honored in October 2004 by all involved in this incredible feat.
Bruce has been a major player in the fundraising efforts of the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Personally raising in excess of $1,000,000 for this hospital, which has named a room after him for his continuing efforts to help ailing children. Bruce also serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County.
His other motorcycle related involvements include serving as co-creator and sponsor of the Bikers Bask held the weekend of the Fort Lauderdale Toys in the Sun Run. These events have generated over $1,165,000 since their inception, benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs. Bruce has used his creative ability, his business experience and his selfless altruism to benefit children and families in need.
