Ron McKinley spent 20 years as a South Dakota Highway Patrolman – 5 of those years as a motorcycle trooper. Both during his time as a trooper and since his retirement in 1991, Ron has dedicated himself to motorcycle safety through talks, seminars and safe riding courses. He is a Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor, serves as the safety officer for four Harley Owners Group chapters, teaches Riders Edge safety courses, writes a monthly safety newsletter for 18 groups, has served as a Volunteer State Safety Coordinator for Harley-Davidson Motor Company and teaches for the Harley Owners Group Primary Officer Training.
